Australia’s Recent Train Accident Blamed on Millipedes

Earlier in September, a train pulling into a station in the town of Clarkson ended in an accident. The transit authority in Australia is blaming the accident on millipedes.

It’s not the first time that millipedes were blamed for train problems. In fact, in 2002 according to the Minibeast Wildlife, there were so many Portuguese millipedes on the train lines between Melbourne and Ballarat. The incident affected 50 trains which were prevented from running. In 2009, thousands of millipedes overtook more than a mile of track near Melbourne. The incident caused delays and cancellations.
