Farmer Charged with Manslaughter After a Hiker is Attacked by a Bull

bull on a farmPaul Geoffrey Waterfall, 39 years old from Leake Lane, Stanford on Soar, Leicestershire has been charged in connection with the death of a hiker, Roger Freeman, who was killed by a bull.

63-year-old Roger Freeman was walking with his wife along a public footpath through the farm when he was attacked by the bull. Waterfall was charged with manslaughter by gross negligence because of the incident which occurred on November 12, 2010 near Underhill Farm.

According to the Crown Prosecution Service, Waterfall was responsible for the farm and its livestock during the attack. Waterfall received bail and is due to appear before the magistrates later this month of August.
