Firms Fined After Worker Roof FallA construction company and a roofing contractor have been fined after a worker fell down four meters through a hole in a roof at a Swindon building site. Giovanni Mastrodomenico, 56 years old, was left paralyzed from the waist down.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) prosecuted the worker’s employer, Tego Roofing Ltd of Oxford and the Surrey-based principal contractor, Wates Construction Ltd, for failing to administer safety measures, which lead to the accident that caused permanent injuries to Mastrodomenico that have left him unable to walk.
