Former Football Player Shot Fatally by Police

Jonathan Ferrell, 24 years old and a former player of the Florida A&M, had been fatally shot by Officer Randal Kerrick of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in North Carolina.

According to the report, Ferrell had survived a car crash that he walked to the nearest house to seek help. The local resident got terrified that Ferrell was attempting to burglarize so he made a 911 call and three officers responded to the scene. Ferrell acted aggressively, according to police reports, so Kerrick discharged his weapon several times and eventually killing Ferrell when he continued charging toward the police.
